Migration in Progress...

Since a couple of days I'm proud owner of the domain http://www.nuttyfanboy.eu .
I've started migrating all my material over there, starting with the blog (which is now based on WordPress).
I might occasionally post in this blog, but my main center of activity will be over at the new home of Nutty Fanboy Productions

Laziness ensues..

I've been a bit lazy in the recent two weeks, to be honest. I think after three and a half gruelsome months on working on the Tears of the Stars-Animation - even with the two-to-three week break - it is well deserved.. especially considering I lost more time at the end due to a nasty sinus infection that knocked me out for a good week there.

And nuts as I am, I pressed hard to finish the whole thing despite being half crippled by antibiotics and general sickness in the week after that.. ;)

The only really productive thing I did in the last week - playing Spore does not count - was sending out massive amounts of application letters to various companies for my internship that's creeping up in the 6th semester..
My more or less secret (okay.. now not so secret) ambition is to gain a job in the Stockholm area.. I'd like to move there for a couple of years at least, seeing as the city has a totally different (and in my eyes, more relaxed) atmosphere when compared to Vienna - or Austria in general, for that matter.

We will see how that turns out..

No, I'm just off to vacation in Sweden now until the 16th of August. So don't expect any new work in that time. I won't even have a computer with me.. but don't worry, I will find ways of cultivating my madness nonetheless. ;)


But in any case I'll treat you to this goodie.. enjoy :)Be warned.. it is a massive 4200 pixel wide. It's full PAL-resolution, so this is what it is going to look like once I turn it in to the university..
The first three shots are (near) production quality, the other three are still in animatic stages (more or less advanced).


It's still a long way to go, but I am more than confident to finish all of it in the deadline assigned by the university (which is Aug. 31st). I'm looking forward to expand on this entire project in the 5th semester as a semester project..

Trying out the BSG way of lighting things a bit that Darth Mojo outlined in his blog..
I think I'll fiddle around with that way a bit more, as what I've got so far looks promising.. I think I'm going to like it eventually ;)
This is just the front section so far, and I'm already up to 40 lights for that thing. Keep in mind, that's about 1/3rd of the entire ship..
